The Head of the media office of the Criminal Investigation Department, Walid Al-Arafi, has announced the discovery of a large quantity of narcotic pills buried in desert trenches and wells.
He said in a press statement on Saturday that the joint security room between the Amssed and Bir al-Ashhab regions, with the participation of the Amssed Criminal Investigation Department branch, seized 145,274 hallucinogenic pills hidden in remote locations for the purpose of camouflage and storage.
Al-Arafi explained that the seizure was the result of careful investigations and intelligence information gathered from confidential sources and individuals arrested in previous security operations. He noted that the dug trenches were also used for activities related to smuggling contraband and illegal immigration.
